While ERBM cares for our local parks, the District only owns one - Paintbrush Park (top left). The others are owned by the Town of Meeker. ERBM provides ongoing care of seven other properties through a lease agreement. As Circle Park Phase III nears completion (bottom right), it's time to talk about the future. Join us for a workshop with the Town of Meeker on Tuesday, August 19 at 5:30pm at Town Hall.

Meeker Park History

Since 2011, ERBM Recreation & Park District has partnered with the Town of Meeker under a lease agreement to operate, maintain, and improve our community’s beloved outdoor spaces. This agreement includes the care of Sanderson Hills Park, Town Park, Circle Park, 6th Street Field, Sage Hills Park, McHatton Park, and Foothills Park.

Park Operations & Upgrades

Although ERBM does not own these properties (the only District-owned park is Paintbrush Park near Meeker Recreation Center), we have served our community by providing day-to-day operations and long-term maintenance — from mowing and snow removal to playground upkeep and general repairs. These operations expenses cost an average of $350,000 per year. The District has also invested more than $4.3 million in funding and secured more than $1.6 million in grants. Improvements have included new playgrounds, trail connections, upgraded facilities, and major projects like the current multi-phase revitalization of Circle Park.

“Meeker’s parks showcase the beauty of our town and are a point of pride for our community,” said ERBM Executive Director Josh Embrey. “Looking ahead, we are prioritizing fiscal responsibility and stewardship for future generations in all decision-making, and we’d love for residents to join this important conversation.”

Looking Forward

As Circle Park Phase III nears completion, the District’s board will be discussing the future of Meeker’s parks at a joint meeting with the Town of Meeker this Tuesday, August 19, at 5:30pm at Town Hall (345 Market Street).
