When ERBM Recreation & Park District conducted a community survey in 2025, we asked you about your overall digital experience and received some great suggestions to make finding information and registering for activities easier.
Because our registration portal is built and managed externally by ActiveNetwork, we can’t change how that specific system looks or acts. Instead, we channeled our energy into rewiring the native website experience for you. During May's facility shutdown, we executed a full site rework to ensure our digital home is cleaner, more approachable, and highly mobile-friendly for our patrons, without sacrificing accessibility compliance.
Here's a quick rundown of new features you'll find on the site.
Site Rework Improvements
User Request 1: "Make registration easier!"
Although we can't change the features of the Registration Portal itself, we recently added activity information to the site proper. You can now view dates, times, and other details directly on our site without having to navigate the (sometimes challenging) Registration Portal.

We also implemented features that let you sort by category, view deadlines, and only visit the Portal when you are ready to complete payment! Activity information for each season will remain on our site, as well, so if you ever need to refer back to the start date or specific requirements for a given activity, you will be able to find it.
We also created a color-coded Activity Calendar so you can find and add activities to your family's schedule quickly and easily.

We also added a handy Registration Help page with answers to the most frequently asked questions, as well as made it easier to reach out to our friendly Guest Services staff if you still need your questions answered!
User Request 2: "But what are the hours?"
MRC's hours can be confusing, especially since they change throughout the year and facility and pool hours often differ from each other.
The redesigned site has a real-time status report at the top of every page so you can see at a glance whether the facility and pool are open or closed.

Additionally, we have created a master Facility Calendar, which shows both center and pool hours (including aquatics activities like swim team so you can plan around them, if you'd like) in a handy visual format.

User Request 3: "I need this to work on my mobile device."
This year's rework is mobile-first and mobile-friendly! During the redesign, we started with the mobile site and then moved to the desktop version. Everything you see has been carefully thought out, tested, and retested to ensure workability with mobile designs.

User Request 4: "I still can't find ______."
Introducing the search bar! Because activity information used to be hosted outside our native site, the search bar never returned the results people were looking for.

With these new site upgrades, you can now look up the name of a specific activity, program, guideline, or pretty much anything else and our search engine will try to find what you are looking for!
This site design remains 100% accessible in accordance with state and federal digital accessibility guidelines.
Of course, we are human. If you have any issues or feedback on the new site design, notice anything wonky, or need something else, don't hesitate to reach out to us at 970-878-3403Â and we will be happy to answer your questions!
