LTS Swim Lessons
These eight, 30 minute lessons will focus on developing positive attitudes, good swimming habits, and safe practices in and around the water. Participants will coordinate and refine strokes and gradually build on fundamental skills and develop confidence in them. These are closed classes. No observers allowed (including parents and siblings) in the pool area except during the last day of class. Goggles are recommended.

Youth Technique & Fitness Swimming
This class is a structured one-hour coached swim workout. Focus will be on proper body position, correct stroke technique, development of a strong flutter kick, breaststroke kick, dolphin kick, and rotary breathing mechanics. To enroll, swimmers must have successfully completed LTS 4 or pass a swimming assessment. Contact the Aquatics Division at 970-878-7434 before March 25 to schedule an assessment. Goggles and a one-piece swim suit are recommended.

USA Swim Team Pre-Season
The USA Swim Team Pre-Season is an optional program that is aimed toward preparing swimmers for the USA summer league season. USA Swim Team & Meeker Youth Swimming
The Meeker Marlins Swim Team consists of two different programs designed to provide training groups in which ability levels, commitment, and team goals are similar. The goal of both programs is to develop the whole swimmer, maintain a quality swim program, and prepare young athletes for the challenges of life through their involvement in swimming. We encourage enrollment in one of the following programs for local swimmers.
USA Swim Team
USA Swim Team is designed for athletes with an advanced and demonstrated commitment to the sport of swimming, with an emphasis on refining stroke technique and building strength and endurance. Swimmers are expected to possess proficient stroke technique and a strong work ethic. This group’s workload progressively increases throughout the season. Meet dates are to be determined. Team suit, cap, and goggles are included in the cost of the program. Coached by Shelly Rogers.

Meeker Youth Swimming
The Meeker Youth Swimming group will focus on the basics of competitive swimming, technique, and stroke development while providing a fun, dynamic environment. These athletes should be able to swim at least one length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. Athletes will learn lane etiquette, use of the pace clock, and how to form a race strategy. Swimmers will participate in 3-4 fun, learning meets throughout the summer. Team suit, cap, and goggles are included in the cost of the program. Coached by Jamie Bumguardner.

SOME (After School Program)
ERBM Recreation & Park District has partnered with the Meeker Elementary School to provide this after school program for youth in grades K-5th. A typical day will include a physical activity, academic enrichment, and a fun activity.
Scholarships are available for this program; applications and requirements can be found at the Meeker Recreation Center or here: Scholarships.

Tween Trip to Get Air
Jump for fun! Enjoy lunch in Downtown Grand Junction (lunch is the responsibility of the participant) before heading over to the indoor trampoline park! Non-slip reusable socks are available for purchase at the park or just jump in your own socks. Masks required.

Meeker Karate Club
Come learn karate! Karate is a martial arts system that develops the mind, body, and the ability to defend one’s self. Karate is known to improve discipline, concentration, balance, stamina, and self-confidence. Students will learn punching, kicking, blocking, takedowns, and grappling. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing that provides proper coverage. Class will be taught barefoot. Contact Guest Services to purchase an optional Meeker Karate Club T-shirt.

Meeker Youth Track & Field
This youth track program offers an opportunity to engage in track and field skills in a fun and welcoming environment. Practices are designed to introduce events, stretching, and conditioning, as well as individual and team exercises. Track equipment will be provided. All participants should come prepared with athletic shoes and a water bottle. T-shirt is included in price. A track meet will be held from 12:15pm-2:15pm on May 14 for all track participants.

Spikeball

Come and play a game of spikeball with your friends! This new program allows you to play no matter your level of experience. On behalf of the Colorado Rockies and Colorado Parks and Recreation Association, ERBM is proud to host the local competition for the Colorado Rockies Skills Challenge. Participants will showcase their talents in base running, throwing, and hitting. Winners in each age division will have the opportunity to advance to the sectional competition. A Colorado Rockies Skills Challenge registration form needs to be completed by a parent/guardian 18 years or older before entering the competition.
